We often think of Mary as this sweet, demure, quiet girl...but when you dig into her beautiful Magnificat (song of praise) in Luke 1, you find out that she was actually quite influenced by the Jewish rebellion that was trying to overthrow the Roman Empire. She was humble, yes, but she was also fierce and brave. And I love that! In this episode of Monday Morning Espresso, we look at Mary's Hope that the Son of God, Jesus growing within her, would be the warrior king to overthrow the Roman Empire - when in actuality He came to overthrow the dark empires residing in our hearts. Come join us in this fun, Christmas discussion!!
His mighty arm has done tremendous things!
He has scattered the proud and haughty ones.
He has brought down princes from their thrones
and exalted the humble.
He has filled the hungry with good things
and sent the rich away with empty hands.
Luke 1:51-53, NLT
