Hey there, mama. I see you. I see you trying to smile for your kiddos. I see you trying to enjoy this life you’ve been given. But sometimes it’s tough. Sometimes, life throws things at you that make parenting seem like a burden that’s too heavy to bear. So what do we do? How do we take steps to cultivate joy in motherhood? How do we reignite the heart of a dreamer inside of our weary mama soul? How do we stop the negative thoughts about ourselves that are rolling around inside our heads? Let’s talk about these things together today!
THE PODCAST IS BACK!!
Today we are going to talk about the importance of self-care in the life of a God-dreamer. Is there a biblical precedent for this concept? Did you know that your wellness is important to God, and that taking care of yourself will, in fact, make you much more able to do all that God has called you to do? Let’s talk this through and be holistically healthy God-dreamers!!
Key Scripture: “Now go up into the hills, bring down timber, and rebuild my house. Then I will take pleasure in it and be honored, says the Lord.” Haggai 1:8
What if the winds of the storms we face are actually taking us where we need to go? What if the detours aren’t actually detours, but paths to our divinely ordained destinations? Jesus is the I AM, He is the King of Kings and He ever-present and guiding our way. Do we believe this even when we’re fighting against winds and waves? Dreamer - your detour due to a storm may actually be taking you where you were meant to be all along…

When you experience heartache in your life, it can be very difficult to see beyond the haze and have compassion for others. This is a human and understandable response, but there's this story about Jesus that snagged my attention this week - a story about miracles that happened when He chose to have compassion and minister to others who were hurting during a time in His life when he was very much hurting as well. This passage encouraged and challenged me so much, and I wanted to share it with you. I hope you feel strengthened. Remember - if your heart is broken, it doesn't mean YOU are broken. In fact, it means you're human, you have a soft heart, and something powerful might happen right there in the midst of your pain. That's the Jesus life, and oh, He is good.
Key Verse: So when Jesus landed he had a huge crowd waiting for him. Seeing so many people, his heart was deeply moved with compassion toward them, so he healed all the sick who were in the crowd. Matthew 14:14, TPT

I've been absent from the podcast for a while and I wanted to let you all know why - I'm publishing my book, The Footsteps of a Dreamer!! :) I've been working super hard to get all the last-minute details in place and drafting an 11-week workbook (The Dreamer's Atlas) to go along with it. This book is to equip and encourage every God-dreamer out there with tenacity, endurance, and hope, no matter what season they are walking through. Find out more details in the podcast! (p.s. sorry for the sub-par audio on this one...I recorded it in my kitchen while my kids were sleeping! #reallife)
We all know that there is power in words. But do we realize how much power there is in The Word...the Word of God? If we could really grasp this, I think it would blow our minds and completely change our relationships, our jobs, our homes...our realities. Let's venture into the valley of dry bones together and see what miracles may await us there...
Key Scripture: Then he asked me, “Son of man, can these bones become living people again?” “O Sovereign Lord,” I replied, “you alone know the answer to that.” Ezekiel 37:3, NLT

Let's be real...the thought of bringing a dead dream back to life can be very scary. We've found a way to get comfortable without it. We have grieved and just want to figure out how to cope. But what if Jesus tells us to let Him bring it back to life? Will we be able to trust Him enough to let Him? Will we open the door of the tomb of our dreams even if we're terrified that it's just going to stink like death in there? Today we look at the story of Lazarus to get these questions answered (and to get some pretty important things settled in our hearts). Can't wait to walk through this with you today.
Key Scripture: “Didn’t I tell you that you would see God’s glory if you believe?” John 11:40b, NLT

Wow, it's December!! And that, of course, has me reflecting on what happened this year. 2017 was this juxtaposition of blessing and suffering for me - what about for you? Actually, what I've discovered is that SUFFERING is, in fact, a PREREQUISITE for some of the greatest blessings! Join me on today's episode to find out the incredible reasons WHY that is the case. You will not leave this 15 minutes without being encouraged! :)
Key Verse: Dear friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. Instead, be very glad—for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world. 1 Peter 4:12-13, NLT

We're all keenly aware of our need for grace, of our inability to do anything without the grace of Christ. But I've been mulling over these questions: Does grace begin to flow when we move? Or does it empower us to move in the first place? Let's dig into this a little bit as we look at how Philippians tells us that God's power gives us the desire AND the power to do what pleases God. This is a fun little adventure! Join me! (PS: Also hear some exciting news about a CHRISTMAS GIFT I have for you!!:) )
Key Scripture: "Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him." Philippians 2:12-13, NLT

It's Thanksgiving week! Let's give thanks! Giving thanks is an act of gratitude and an act of faith. As we go deeper in our faith, the more we understand how important and how beautiful it is to give thanks for everything, even the hard stuff. What are you thankful for? Can't wait to have this Thanksgiving chat with you as we officially enter into the holidays!!
A dreamer cannot dream without first being able to give thanks in all circumstances. <3
Key Verse: Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thess. 5:18, NIV

The podcast is BACK! I took the past few weeks off to buckle down and finish my book, and I have good news...it's FINISHED! The manuscript draft is complete and now I'm pursuing next steps. Let me tell you about how this process has worked and how God's timing has been so perfect. Let's also chat a bit about why it important to continue in this process of walking out our callings - so much evil is taking place in the world, and our lives lived sold out and on mission are to be lights in the darkness. Let's not waste another moment!
Key Verse: Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Ephesians 5:16, NLT
I wanted to share a bit of sweetness with you this week by recording a podcast with my kiddos. They're so cute, you don't want to miss it. :) None of us are living life as islands, pursuing dreams with no one around us. We all have people in our spheres who are living lives, too, lives that Jesus cares about just as much as ours. For many of us, these lives are encapsulated in little tiny bodies that make big messes but also hold really huge hearts. Love on your people today, whoever they may be. Remember that what you do affects them, too. Let's love extravagantly. <3
Key Verse: And guard your speech - never let ugly or hateful words come from your mouth, but instead let your words become beautiful gifts that encourage others; do this by speaking words of grace to help them. Ephesians 4:29, The Passion Translation
